Spectrum of Colours
Spectrum of Colours is a resource that aims to assist queer and transgender South Asians to embrace and navigate their identities in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a resource that aims to be a friendly aunty or uncle, answering questions and providing advice.
Spectrum of Colours traverses a multitude of topics including:
Celebrating Diversity
Letting In and Coming Out
Being Out
Celebrating Traditions
Navigating Life
Violence
Mental Health Matters
Sexual Health
General Healthcare
Community Connections
It aims to answer any questions that you may have about these topics. We know that developing and growing in your sexuality and/or gender can often bring feelings of anxiety. This resource is our best attempt at trying to mitigate these feelings, and replace them with a sense of security.
Spectrum of Colours has been translated into Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi, Sinhala, Tamil, and Urdu. We intend to translate the resource into other South Asian languages once we get the resources to do so.
